Hayden turn’s 3!!!

Another year has come and gone! Our little girl is now 3! It is so unbelievable how fast time is going since Hayden came into the world. She has brought so much joy and happiness to Chad and I. I can not wait to see what else is to come in the future for her, the places she will go and the things she will accomplish in life!

As Dr. Seuss says…

“You’ll be on your way up! You’ll be seeing great sights! You’ll join the high fliers who soar to high heights. You won’t lag behind, because you’ll have the speed. You’ll pass the whole gang and you’ll soon take the lead. Wherever you fly, you’ll be best of the best. Wherever you go, you will top all the rest.

The party:  Her new things recently is “My little Pony” and she told me for weeks that she wanted a pony party (of course I was going to make this happen). So I took her to Party City and she picked out all of her own decorations of “My little Pony”. She had no idea what I had in store for her and was planning to make an appearance at her pony party. I rented 2 ponies to come play for 2 hours. I knew that she would just be beside herself when she saw these ponies. I can not express myself how much of an animal lover Hayden is and always has been! (I swear she will either be a zoo keeper or a veterinarian when she grows up) When the truck pulled up and she saw what was in side she was so excited. Her happiness bring tears of joy to my eyes. She wanted those ponies out ASAP. The lady saddled up the ponies and Hayden jumped right up on that pony as if she rode every day not a fear in the world. I am so glad that she enjoyed her big birthday surprise! I think yesterday answered my question if she would enjoy taking horse back riding lessons. After her party Chad and I took her to the Melting Pot to enjoy fondue it was the perfect end to a perfect day.

Thanks to everyone who came to the party and helped make it happen. She was blessed with a large amount of gifts and thank you so much for all of those.

The baby finally has a name!

I would just like to give a quick update on how the baby and I are doing and officially announce her name. Unfortunately I do not have any pictures to share.

Last week I had my 23 week check up and ultrasound. This was a big visit because they check the anatomy of the baby plus it is a 30 minute ultra sound so I got to see her for a whole 30 minutes.  It feels like a life time between all the ultrasounds I hate not being able to see her. There were a few parts of her that they were unable to check because of her positioning. The doctor did mention that she is measuring fairly small for what she should be measuring. We will be having another ultra sound in a few weeks to check on her again. I don’t mind if she is small as long as she is healthy.

As for me I am feeling great at this point. Hopefully it will stick around for a while!!

Now for the big name announcement (drum roll please…)  Hannah Elyse Gatewood!

Hayden is so excited for baby Hannah to arrive. Every picture of a baby girl that she see’s she asks me “Is this baby Hannah” or at least once  a day she asks me if Hannah can sleep in her room with her. I think she is going to be a great big sister!

Adding another branch to our family tree

Today is the day that Chad and I have been anticipating for a couple of weeks. We have had so much excitement built up that it was like we were getting an early Christmas gift. As most of you know Chad wants a boy so bad so he has been praying and I honestly wanted another girl for Hayden to have a sister. Growing up I always wished I had a sister and I would still like one to be able to shop with and pick up the phone to call in times of needing someone to lean on. But I also knew Chad wanted a boy so I was a little torn oh which one to hope for. The result are in! We are having a ……………………………..

Yes! We are having another GIRL!!!! We are all very excited for more pink!

Savannah Children’s Book Festival

The festival is presented by Live Oak Public Libraries and the City of Savannah. The festival celebrates the joy of reading, the power of the written word and the magic of storytelling with children’s book authors and illustrators from around the country. The festival will also include more than 60 Coastal Authors, arts and crafts, an International Tent, a variety of food and entertainment, a Book Walk and graphic novel/comics area.

Hayden has participated the last few years in the book festival and she loves it. There are so many things for children to do she always comes home with a whole bag a goodies. If you live in the Savannah area I highly suggest for you to take your children.

Halloween!!

Okay so yes I am a little behind on updating but things have been crazy around the Gatewood house. For those of you who don’t know we are expecting baby #2 and this time around I have had terrible “all day sickness”. Also a few days before Halloween Hayden fell at school and broke her nose so if you see black eyes in the pictures I promise we did not beat her!

As for Halloween I believe she had a really great time. The holiday started off with her first ever school field trip to the pumpkin patch and party and that was a good time! On Sunday we took her to a couple of local church’s for their fall festival. She was able to play games and jump in the moon bounces. Then on Monday she was so excited to collect all the candy and go trick or treating. This year we put several bales of hay in a trailer and pulled her and the neighbor kids around the whole neighborhood. We even had to stop at the house 1/2 way around the hood to dump her pumpkin. Needless to say we will be eating candy for a while. Although it is coming in handy since we are potty training and she gets a treat every time she goes to the bathroom.

Personally for me Halloween is my least favorite holiday and we try to celebrate more Fall and not so much Halloween. I do not like all of the ghost, witches and scary things. This year gave me even more reason not to like it. Since all of the Halloween decorations have been in stores Hayden has been terrified to go into rooms at home alone or go to sleep alone. She honestly thinks there are monsters and witches in her room. She is finally this week starting to get a little over it but it lasted for a good month which made bed time no fun at all.

3rd Anniversary

Chad and I recently celebrated our 3rd anniversary! Can you believe it has been 3 years since we said “I Do”??  Time has flown by these last few years. This year we decided to take a few days to our self and leave the normal life behind. Mimi and Poppy (my parents) watched Hayden, big thanks to them both. We boarded this boat and called it home for 4 days. My brother and sister-in-law decided to join us on our adventure and we had the best time. Lots of laughs and tons of sun is what our weekend consisted of. We went to the Nassau and Coco Cay, Bahama’s. Our most said quote on the trip was “What are we eating next”? If you have ever been on a cruise you would totally understand this.  The food is fabulous and there is always a TON to eat 24 hours a day.

Bowling and Beach

This past weekend was a pretty packed weekend including a quick trip to Charleston to visit Chad’s family for his nephew’s birthday party. While we were there we went out on the boat to an island where Hayden found lots of “gorgeous” shells. (That’s her new word) It was a very LONG day and we were exhausted once we got home. Hayden luckily fell asleep about 15 minutes into the trip on the way home. Over all we had a great time!!!

Hayden’s 1st visit to Babyland

Hope that you all had a great 4th of July weekend! This past weekend my family, parents and brothers family all went to stay in a cabin in Helen, Ga. We had a great time together. It was really just a laid back weekend of not doing a whole lot. We did make a stop by the Babyland hospital (home of the cabbage patch kids), the local bakery, putt putt golf and tubing down the Chattahoochee River.

Helen has a special place in my heart. When I was growing up my grandparents lived in Helen and I spent a lot of my summers and holidays there with them. My granddaddy always took to the babyland hospital (not sure who liked it more him or I) and we always went mining for gold.

Running! Screaming! AGHHHH!

Our little Hayden is growing up! I haven’t posted in a while so here are a few picture’s from the last week of Hayden. Hope that everyone had a great Father’s Day and that you are enjoying your summer.

Easter

This was Hayden’s first year of dying eggs on her own. There were a few with cracks in them but that’s OK (just means we had to make potato salad) . She didn’t understand that you have to carefully put them in the bowl or that you can not bang them together. Over all it was a lot of fun and she enjoyed herself.

Easter day we went to church and had lunch at my grandparents. Of course Hayden walked out with 3 big baskets full of stuff… clothes, toys, jelly beans, stuffed animals, and books. The child is spoiled rotten!!!! As for what mommy and daddy gave her lets just say NO candy. I started a tradition when she was born that each year her Easter basket will be “Summer” related stuff… bathing suits, beach towel, flip flops, sun glasses, and bubbles. Her biggest and best gift of all that fit with the holiday was her new best friend Daisy. Although she got Daisy before Easter we still put her in the basket.
